Tail of a Whale
It’s peak of the Humpback northern migration and I finally went out on one of the whale watching boats. Well what a difference it makes to be within a few hundred metres of these majestic animals! I’m so used to viewing them from cliff tops when their kilometres away that being up so close is a bit overwhelming. You can see all the detail, markings, scratches and barnacles, not to mention the sound of their deep rumbling blows!
Check out the Whales gallery for new images.

Seniors Moments Photography Competition
I’m delighted to report that my portrait of Alfred Najar has won 1st prize in
North Sydney Council's Seniors Moments Photography Competition!
Alf and I had a wonderful time making the photograph which shows Alf with his beautiful competition shotgun. At 90 Alf is the oldest registered clay target shooter in Australia and is looking forward competing at the Australian titles in May. Alf took up competitive shooting after a long motor racing career that saw him win three Australian Grand Prix as well as founding the Mount Panorama racing circuit.
